What Does a Cricket Kit Manufacturer Actually Make?
A cricket kit manufacturer makes the team clothing: playing shirts, trousers, training tops and travel layers, not bats or pads. Jafsu Enterprises sublimates your crest, sponsors, names and numbers into polyester, then cuts and sews each piece to your measurements, from a 1-piece sample and 20 pieces per design.
Equipment brands work in willow and leather; we work in GSM and Pantone references, across 2 formats: whites and coloured kits.
Key takeaways
- Whites suit red-ball cricket; fully sublimated coloured kits suit T20 and one-day games.
- Production from 20 pieces per design; samples from 1 piece in 7–10 working days.
- Playing shirts run 140–220 GSM (4.1–6.5 oz/yd²) in polyester.
- Youth YS–YXL and adult S–4XL sizes share one order.
Whites or Coloured: Which Cricket Kit Does Your Club Need?
Most clubs need both. Whites are worn for red-ball, multi-day cricket and coloured kits for T20 and one-day games. Whites stay mostly plain with small colour trims; coloured kits are sublimated edge to edge in the club palette.

Traditional cricket whites
White or ivory shirts and trousers, with colour kept to piping, collar tipping or a panel insert. ECB county rules allow 3 extra colours at most, a sensible ceiling for club designs too.

Coloured T20 and one-day kits
Full dye sublimation runs pattern, sponsors, names and numbers across every panel, with nothing to crack. ECB limited-overs rules cap white and light colours at 10% of the design so the ball stays visible.
ECB figures here come from its Clothing and Equipment Regulations, effective 28 November 2025, and bind professional county sides only. Club cricket follows its league’s playing conditions, so check those first.
What Goes Into a Full Custom Cricket Kit?
A club order usually covers 6 pieces, all cut from one artwork file so match, training and travel kit read as one set, made to your measurements in youth and adult sizes.
Playing shirts
Polo collar or crew neck, short or long sleeve, in interlock, birdseye mesh or micro poly for airflow in the field.
Cricket trousers
White or coloured, cut to your block, with waist, rise and leg confirmed on the sample.
Training tops and vests
Lighter tops for nets and warm-ups, printed from the match artwork on our sublimation line.
Travel and off-field wear
Club hoodies, polo shirts and travel wear for the pavilion and away days.
Crests, names and numbers
Crests embroidered or sublimated, sponsors sublimated, names and numbers sized to your league’s rules.
Labels and packing
Your own woven neck label and satin wash tag, each kit bagged individually.
What Should Your Cricket Kit Spec Sheet Include?
Six lines decide whether the kit you approve is the kit you receive, and whether next season’s reorder matches it. Send them to every supplier you shortlist; the useful ones answer in numbers.
- Name and number sizes. ECB county shirts use numbers 20–25 cm tall and letters 6–7.5 cm, max 2 digits: a fair default.
- Crest position. Left chest, up to 10 sq in (64.5 cm²), sponsors on front, back, sleeve or collar.
- Fabric weight in both units. 180 GSM is 5.3 oz/yd²; mixed units can hide a lighter cloth.
- Colour references. Pantone or CMYK values, never a screenshot.
- Shrinkage tolerance. Tested under AATCC TM135, with the allowance written into the order.
- Size split. Youth and adult counts per design, totalling at least 20 pieces.

Put it in writing
The approved sample and this sheet are what your bulk order is inspected against before the 50% balance falls due.
What Fabric Weights, Minimums and Lead Times Apply?
Every weight is given in both units, because a factory quoting in GSM and a club budgeting in ounces are describing the same cloth. Divide GSM by 33.906 to get oz/yd².
| Garment | Fabric | GSM | oz/yd² |
|---|---|---|---|
| Playing shirts, training tops | Interlock, birdseye mesh, micro poly | 140–220 | 4.1–6.5 |
| Off-field tees | Combed cotton, CVC | 180–280 | 5.3–8.3 |
| Hoodies, joggers | French terry, fleece | 320–450+ | 9.4–13.3+ |
| Stage | Quantity or time |
|---|---|
| Mockup and costing | 24–48 hours |
| Sample | 1 piece · 7–10 working days |
| Production minimum | 20 pieces per design and colourway |
| Bulk, 50–300 pieces | 14–18 working days |
| Bulk, 500–1,000+ pieces | 20–25 working days |
| Express shipping | DHL, FedEx, UPS · 4–6 business days |
| Payment | Samples 100% advance · bulk 50% deposit, 50% before dispatch |
AATCC Test Method 135 fixes the wash and dry conditions for shrinkage but sets no maximum, so agree the tolerance and write it on the order. Trouser fabric and weight are confirmed at quoting.
How Long Does a Custom Cricket Kit Order Take?
Plan on six to seven weeks from first artwork to kit in hand for a new design. Reorders of an approved design can skip the sample: bulk time plus 4–6 business days in transit.
-

Send crest, colours and sponsor files, or a kit you wear now; a mockup and quote come back.

-

Sublimation, cutting, stitching, embroidery, labelling and packing, checked against the sample.
-

QC photos and video before the balance, then express door-to-door shipping.
Who Buys Custom Cricket Kits From an Overseas Factory?
Clubs, leagues, schools and brands that want custom cricket uniforms built around their own crest rather than a catalogue template, and can plan six weeks ahead. A 20-piece minimum suits one squad; price breaks at 100, 300, 500 and 1,000+ suit leagues and brands.
- UK clubs and schools. Whites for league weekends, coloured kit for midweek T20.
- US leagues and academies. Coloured kits for the T20 format bound for the LA28 Olympics, with 6 teams per gender.
- Australian grade and junior clubs. Whites and coloured kits in one order, youth sizes included.
- Cricket and sportswear brands. OEM or ODM private label ranges under your own woven labels.

When Is Jafsu the Wrong Cricket Kit Supplier?
When you need hard equipment, fewer than 20 pieces of a design, or new kit inside six weeks with no approved sample. In each case another route serves you better.
Bats, pads, gloves or balls
We make clothing only. Buy willow, leather and protective gear from a specialist equipment brand.
One or two shirts
Below 20 pieces of one design, a local supplier with stock whites will be cheaper and faster.
A fixture next month
A new design needs about six weeks. If the first match is sooner, buy stock kit now and go custom next season.
What Do Clubs Ask a Cricket Kit Manufacturer?
What is the minimum order for a custom cricket kit?
Production starts at 20 pieces per design and colourway. Samples start at 1 piece, and price breaks apply at 100, 300, 500 and 1,000+ pieces.
Do you make cricket bats, pads or balls?
No. We make cricket clothing only. Bats, pads, gloves, helmets and balls come from specialist equipment makers.
What fabric is best for cricket shirts?
Polyester interlock, birdseye mesh or micro poly at 140 to 220 GSM (4.1 to 6.5 oz/yd²). It wicks sweat, dries fast and holds sublimated logos without cracking.
Can you make whites and coloured T20 kits in one order?
Yes. They run as separate designs, each from 20 pieces, but share one artwork file, one sizing round and one shipment.
How long does a custom cricket kit take?
About six to seven weeks for a new design: 24 to 48 hours for costing, 7 to 10 working days for the sample, 14 to 18 working days for 50 to 300 pieces, then 4 to 6 business days in transit.
Can you add player names, numbers and sponsor logos?
Yes. Names, numbers and sponsors are sublimated and crests can be embroidered. Without league size rules we default to the ECB layout: 20 to 25 cm numbers, 6 to 7.5 cm letters.
What sizes do you make cricket kits in?
Youth YS to YXL and adult S to 4XL. The 20-piece minimum counts across a design’s whole size split, not per size.
Do you ship cricket kits to the USA, UK and Australia?
Yes, door to door by DHL, FedEx or UPS in 4 to 6 business days, and to Canada and Europe on the same terms.
Where Do the Cricket Kit Figures on This Page Come From?
Jafsu’s own figures are our published production terms. The 3 industry claims come from the bodies that set them: ECB for kit layout, ICC for the Olympic format, AATCC for shrinkage.
