The short answer

What Does a Sports Bra Manufacturer Actually Do?

A sports bra manufacturer engineers and sews the whole garment — band, cups, straps, elastics, pads and bonded or flatlock seams — from your pattern, knit and stated support level, then labels and packs it under your brand. Jafsu Enterprises does that as an OEM / ODM factory in Sialkot, Pakistan, from a one-piece sample and a 20-piece low MOQ, shipping bulk orders to the UK, USA, Canada, the EU and Australia.

A wholesale sports bra supplier sells finished stock by the carton; print on demand decorates a blank someone else engineered. Neither gives you a band tension of your own, a cup shape graded to your size run or a neck label with your name in it. A private label sports bra factory starts further back — at the roll and the pattern table, where cut and sew production begins.

Roll to finished piece — where private label production starts

The harder question is not who sews your first 20 bras, but who sews the next 500 identically. Returns here rarely come from the print. They come from a band that stretched out in week three, or a second run where the compression felt looser than the sample.

That is what happens when support is described in adjectives instead of numbers: elastane percentage, elastic width, pad density, recovery after wash. The specs below decide it, so you can hold any sports bra manufacturer to them.

What we cut, bond and sew

Custom Sports Bras, Built to Your Block

Six builds cover almost every activewear capsule leaving our floor, each patterned to your measurements, support level and fabric weight — never a stock body with a logo added at the end.

High-impact custom sports bra in black nylon spandex with a CUSTOM DESIGN chest print and wide underband

High-impact running bras

A high-impact custom sports bra needs encapsulation as well as compression: separated cups, a 35–50 mm underband, racer or cross-back straps and bar-tacked stress points. Compression alone holds at a jog and gives up at a sprint, so support is patterned in, not added later.

260–320 GSM · double-layer nylon-elastane · bonded or flatlock
Seamless knit sports bra in sage green with ribbed zones and a CUSTOM DESIGN under-bust print

Seamless and ribbed bras

As a seamless sports bra manufacturer we knit the body as one tube on circular machines, so support zones come from stitch density rather than cut panels. Seamless technology removes side seams entirely — less chafing under a barbell, and a cleaner line under a cropped tee.

200–260 GSM · nylon-elastane · knit-to-shape zoning
Padded sports bra with removable moulded cups laid beside the pad pockets and a CUSTOM DESIGN strap print

Padded and moulded cups

A padded sports bra manufacturer should name the pad, not just include one: moulded or die-cut, foam density, thickness, and whether it sits in a sewn-in sleeve or a removable side pocket. Removable pads survive the wash; sewn-in pads never come back folded.

Moulded or removable · sewn-in sleeve or side pocket
Custom sublimated sports bra in bold all-over teal print with CUSTOM DESIGN lettering across the front

Sublimated and all-over print

A custom sublimated sports bra is printed on the panel before cutting, so the graphic runs edge to edge with no hand feel and nothing to crack. Sublimation needs a high-polyester base; on nylon bodies we switch to screen printing, DTF or embroidery.

180–220 GSM poly-elastane · panel-printed pre-cut
Longline crop sports bra in charcoal with a wide underband and CUSTOM DESIGN print, folded flat

Longline and crop bras

Longline bodies extend the band to the ribs or waist, spreading load and selling as a standalone top rather than a layer. Extra length changes the grade, so the block is patterned separately — a stretched short body rides up within an hour of wear.

220–280 GSM · brushed or matte handfeel · custom band depth
Matching sports bra and leggings set in mauve cut from one dye lot with a CUSTOM DESIGN waistband print

Matching bra and legging sets

Two-piece sets cut from one dye lot with matched waistband and underband trims. Sets lift average order value faster than anything else in activewear — and a set half a shade apart comes back as faulty even when each piece passes alone.

Six Lines That Decide Whether Your Bulk Run Matches

Send these to every sports bra manufacturer you shortlist. The ones worth working with answer in numbers; the rest answer with adjectives.

  • Composition and elastane percentage. Nylon-elastane feels softer and recovers harder; poly-elastane costs less and takes sublimation. Elastane between 12% and 25% separates a compression bra from a bralette.
  • Fabric weight in both units. 260 GSM and 7.7 oz/yd² are the same cloth; one conversion slip separates the body you costed from a see-through one.
  • Support level, defined by construction. Low, medium or high impact answered with cup type, band width and strap geometry — not the word “supportive”.
  • Elastic specification. Underband and strap elastic named by width, type and finish — band recovery after 20 washes is the most common failure point in this category.
  • Pad and cup detail. Moulded or die-cut, density, thickness, sleeve or pocket, and whether the pad grades with the size or stays identical across the run.
  • Tolerances and trims, named. A stated allowance on underbust, cup and strap length, plus the exact woven label, care label and swing tag in every piece.

A manufacturer quoting against this sheet instead of a screenshot can price it in 24–48 hours, and the sample you approve becomes the spec your bulk order is measured by.

The sheet travels with the order

Cutting, bonding, stitching, printing, embroidery, labelling and packing all happen in one building — the advantage of a private label sports bra factory that brokers nothing out. Measurements checked at inspection are the ones written at quoting, and your patterns and artwork stay yours.

The hard numbers

Fabrics, Quantities and Bulk Lead Times

Every sports bra manufacturer should publish these in both units, because a factory quoting in GSM and a buyer costing in ounces are describing the same cloth. The conversion factor is 33.906.

Support selector: what does each impact level actually take?

Pick the level your customer trains at and see the construction it takes to hold it. Air and sea freight are available on bulk orders.

High impact — running, HIIT, court sport

Compression plus encapsulation: separated moulded cups, a 35–50 mm underband, cross-back or racer straps in a wider elastic, bar-tacked joins and a double-layer 260–320 GSM body with power mesh lining.

How an Order Runs Through the Factory

Every order takes the same five stages, whether it is a 20-piece low MOQ test or a 2,000-piece bulk run.

  1. Enquiry and costing

Send a tech pack, a reference bra or a sketch with measurements and support level. Back comes a mockup and per-piece costing split by fabric, elastics, pads, decoration and trims.

    24–48 hours
  2. Pattern and spec lock

Measurements, GSM, elastane content, elastic widths, pad spec, tolerances and print placements confirmed in writing. Revisions here cost nothing; the same one after cutting costs a run.

    Before sampling begins
  3. One-piece sample

One sewn bra in your fabric, fit and decoration. Train in it, wash it, measure it. Nothing moves to bulk until you approve this piece.

    1 pc · 7–10 working days
  4. Bulk production

Spreading, cutting, elastic attachment, bonding or flatlock stitching, printing or embroidery, then labelling and polybagging, with inline and endline checks.

    14–25 working days by volume
  5. QC and dispatch

QC photographs and video reach you before the balance falls due, then express dispatch with tracking and paperwork handled here.

Who we build for

Four Kinds of Buyer, One Production Line

Activewear manufacturers see the same four buyers. The brief changes; the line does not.

DTC activewear labels

Private label activewear brands matching drop cycles, not seasons — a 20-piece low MOQ per colourway lets you shoot, list and sell before the next is cut.

Sellers moving off blanks

The graphics sell and the blank is the ceiling. This is where an OEM sports bra manufacturer beats a reseller: your own cup shape, band tension and neck label.

Wholesale and bulk buyers

Distributors and stockists ordering repeat volume from a wholesale sports bra supplier, with bulk price breaks at 100, 300, 500 and 1,000+ pieces per style.

Gyms, studios and teams

Kit programmes built alongside our fitnesswear production, so one order covers bras, leggings and training tops.

Sports Bra Manufacturer FAQ

What is the minimum order for custom sports bras?

Samples start at one piece and bulk at 20 pieces per design and colourway, split across XS to XXL. Most sports bra manufacturers ask for 300 to 1,000 pieces per style, so a low MOQ of 20 lets a new label launch a real colourway without funding stock it has not yet sold.

What is the difference between OEM and ODM sports bra production?

OEM means we build to your pattern, spec and artwork — you own the design. ODM means you start from one of our developed blocks and change fabric, colour, trims and branding, which is faster and cheaper to sample. Many brands begin ODM and move to OEM once the fit is proven.

Can you make seamless sports bras?

Yes. Seamless bodies are knitted as a single tube on circular machines, with support zones created by stitch density rather than cut panels, then finished and branded here. Seamless technology suits low and medium impact best; for high-impact bras, cut-and-sew construction still holds better because cups and band can be engineered separately.

What GSM should a custom sports bra be?

Most sit between 180 and 320 GSM, or 5.3 to 9.4 oz/yd². At 180–220 GSM you get a light-support, breathable workout sports bra or a sublimated body. From 260 GSM up, a double-layer moisture-wicking knit with 18–25% elastane is what a high-impact custom sports bra needs to stay opaque and hold shape.

Do you offer padded bras with removable cups?

Both. As a padded sports bra manufacturer we run moulded and die-cut pads in several densities, set either into a sewn-in sleeve or a removable side-entry pocket. Removable pads suit a wider size range and wash cycle; sewn-in pads keep placement exact and never fold in the machine.

Can I order custom sublimated sports bras in bulk?

Yes, on a high-polyester base. Panels are printed before cutting, so an all-over graphic runs edge to edge with no added hand feel and nothing to crack. Sublimation is the cheapest route for complex multi-colour artwork in bulk, because price does not rise with colour count as screen printing does.

Do you produce private label activewear beyond bras?

Yes. As a custom activewear manufacturer we build bulk sets — leggings, shorts, training tops and bras — from one dye lot with matched trims, so a capsule arrives as a coordinated range, not pieces from different runs. Sets are the fastest way to lift average order value.

Do you supply brands in the USA and take repeat orders?

Yes. We manufacture in Sialkot, Pakistan and ship door to door to the USA, UK, Canada, Europe and Australia by DHL, FedEx and UPS, usually 4 to 6 business days. Repeat runs are produced against the same written spec, with bulk price breaks at 100, 300, 500 and 1,000+ pieces and a 50% deposit, balance before dispatch.
