The short answer

What You’ll Find on the Jafsu Blog

The Jafsu Enterprises blog is a set of practical guides for anyone having clothing made: starting a brand with a manufacturer, how minimum order quantities work, what drives the cost of a garment and how to write a tech pack, plus shorter guides on printing methods, fabrics, garment care and product styling. The guides are written by the team that cuts, sews and prints the orders, using the figures we quote to real buyers.

A lot of manufacturing advice online is written by people who have never costed a garment. The numbers here come from our own production: one sewn sample in 7–10 working days, production from 20 pieces per design and colourway, and bulk lead times of 14–18 working days for 50–300 pieces. Where a figure changes with fabric, decoration or order size, the guide says so instead of rounding it into a promise.

How to Start a Clothing Brand with a Manufacturer

The full route from idea to first delivery: choosing your garment family and fit, preparing a spec, shortlisting factories, approving a one-piece sample and planning a first drop you can afford to hold. It finishes with what full private label manufacturing should include, so your garments arrive under your own name.

  • How to shortlist three to five factories and spot a trading office posing as one
  • What to send for a first quote: tech pack, reference garment or sketch

Price breaks at 100 / 300 / 500 / 1,000+

Each guide links through to the service it relates to: private label clothing manufacturing, our tech pack service and custom hoodie manufacturing.

Find the Right Guide for Where Your Brand Is Now

Pick the stage that sounds most like you. You’ll get the one guide to read first and three things to have ready before you contact a factory.

Read first · Guide 01

How to Start a Clothing Brand with a Manufacturer

Before designs, decide what you’re making and how much of it. That one decision sets your fabric, your factory shortlist and your budget.

  • One garment family for the first drop: hoodies, tees or activewear, not all three
  • A budget for one sample plus a 20–40 piece first run
  • Three to five reference garments whose fit you like

Questions About the Jafsu Blog

Who writes the Jafsu Enterprises blog?

The guides are written and checked by the Jafsu Enterprises production team, the people who cost, cut, sew and decorate the orders. Figures such as the 1-piece sample, the 20-piece MOQ and the 14–18 working-day bulk lead time are the terms we quote to buyers, not industry averages.

I’m starting my first clothing brand. Which guide should I read first?

Start with How to Start a Clothing Brand with a Manufacturer, then What Is a Tech Pack?, then the MOQ and cost guides. Read in that order, they take you from an idea to a quote request that any factory can price accurately.

Do I need a tech pack before I contact a manufacturer?

No. A tech pack speeds up sampling and reduces revision rounds, but we also work from a reference garment, photographs or a sketch with measurements. The full specification, including measurements per size, fabric weight and decoration placements, is confirmed with you in writing before any fabric is cut.

What is the minimum order at Jafsu Enterprises?

One piece for a sample and 20 pieces per design and colourway for production, split across the size curve. Many factories start at 200 pieces or more per design; the MOQ guide explains how minimums are counted and why they differ so much between suppliers.

Can I suggest a topic for a future guide?

Yes. Send your question by email or WhatsApp. Questions that come up again and again from buyers are the ones we write up first.
